It’s me and Christina Appelgate.

Ever seen the -80’s show “Married…with children”? Since I started studying Frontend developing my head have been playing up the same scene over and over:

Kelly Bundy (played by Christina Appelgate) is going to compete in a Jeopardy game. She has been cramming and have tried to learn as much as possible in a very short time.

She finally reaches a point where it’s like : “Sorry, my brain is full, I can’t take in ONE MORE bit of information!”

Later at the Jeopardy show she accidently learn something new and as a result she forgets the one thing she knew before she started studying. Her brain was full, and when something went in, something else went out.

Thankfully though, our brain does not work like that. But you know what? Sometimes it feels like it!

I’m currently working really hard to learn so much, so new, in a very short time that there are moments, which occur quite often to be honest, that my brain feels just like Kelly’s. “Sorry, it’s full, come back tomorrow!”

How do I deal with it?

I’m still figuring that part out. Do I need a short break? A longer brake? Some chocolate? (Can’t go wrong there, though 😉) Should I push through it? Ask for help? Vent a bit with my team in slack?

Since this is a feeling I’m quite sure I will continue having, I will have to do some investigating to figure out a way of dealing with it that works for me.

And in the meantime, just be grateful that my brain doesn’t work like Kelly’s.

But, wait.…who was Kelly again…? 😉
